Part 2 Photoshoot (Reunion, Dinner, Fun)

Had a blast yesterday with college friends, friendlyfire crew, and friends. Also the birthday of my brother "Brian Asuncion"--shout out to you Happy Happy Birthday.

The awaited Part 2 photoshoot turns out to be a reunion of the bestest friends in college. From Jon's place to Talamban we picked up Grace and Peter Alivio (our photographer) along the road caught up in the rain. Had to stop at Ayala, to buy some water and food and chill a bit while waiting for Catherine and Roseann to arrive.

Then off to South Road Properties (SRP) taking the tunnel road for the first time (will post a video of that). Encountered officers who are roving the place and won't allow us to walk and shoot to the cool spots. Who will stop us anyway?

After in SRP, had a dinner in SM food court (photos below), then off to Paknaan (going to Liloan or Consolacion Bridge) the last stop and where the fun starts.

Feel free to share and like the link. <3

Heart of stoneImage by John Linwood via Flickr
24 'For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. 28 You will live in the land I gave your forefathers; you will be my people, and I will be your God.

New Movies in Hollywood this weekend

This weekend, Hollywood is offering two new hot movies that will scare you or rob you after the five new movies in the silver screen last weekend.

Check out the trailer of the new movies and short details of the story.

Directed by John Luessenhop, revolves around a notorious group of criminals (Idris Elba, Paul Walker, T.I., Chris Brown, Hayden Christensen and Michael Ealy) who continue to baffle police by pulling off perfectly executed bank robberies. They are in and out like clockwork, leaving no evidence behind and laying low in between heists. But when they attempt to pull off one last job with more money at stake than ever before, the crew may find their plans interrupted by a hardened detective (Matt Dillon) who is hell-bent on solving the case.

Takers: rated PG-13

Written by Huck Botko & Andrew Gurland and directed by Daniel Stamm. Strike Entertainment and STUDIOCANAL present an Arcade Pictures production.

"When he arrives on the rural Louisiana farm of Louis Sweetzer, the Reverend Cotton Marcus expects to perform just another routine "exorcism" on a disturbed religious fanatic. An earnest fundamentalist, Sweetzer has contacted the charismatic preacher as a last resort, certain his teenage daughter Nell is possessed by a demon who must be exorcized before their terrifying ordeal ends in unimaginable tragedy.

Buckling under the weight of his conscience after years of parting desperate believers with their money, Cotton and his crew plan to film a confessionary documentary of this, his last exorcism. But upon arriving at the already blood drenched family farm, it is soon clear that nothing could have prepared him for the true evil he encounters there. Now, too late to turn back, Reverend Marcus' own beliefs are shaken to the core when he and his crew must find a way to save Nell -- and themselves -- before it is too late.

The Last Exorcism: rated PG-13

Eximus Novus Pedalboards (a review)

Last, August 18, 2010 after a month of waiting, my pedal board bag just landed. After work went straight home opened the package and taran a classy black PB bag pops out. Grab my rig and placed it inside whoa lah it perfectly fits.

I've found Mr. Luigi (owner of EXN Pedalboards/PB Bags/Guitar-Bass Bags) in a forum in a community of musicians in Philippines and Filipinos abroad.

I told them to change the stripes into a cross to make it a simple one (let them customize it a bit), and the pocket with zippers in case of travelling. Also, added double paddings in the bag to protect the gadgets and board inside.

How bout the price/breakdown?

Paid P1000 only (650 bag + 120 double padding + 230 shipping). They're from Dumaguete, Philippines so if you're not from that town they can ship the item.

Last thoughts, you need to be patient in dealing with Luigi, because musicians all over the Philippines orders to him.

For more details check the link below, but before that you need to login and create an account to view his advertisement, also check out their Facebook account.,76364.0.html

I would recommend this to a friend. Feel free to share.

Two Approach in Social Media

Image representing Facebook as depicted in Cru...Image via CrunchBase
Since the start of Social Media, young and old participate on it. In my high school years, I started using which i deleted, then college years opened my page which is still online, after college opened my account which in that time only american people are using it and after that my page.

Two (2) approaches of people in using Social Media:
  1. Friends/Colleagues/for Fun
  2. Business
First approach is about gaining friends only and for fun. A lot of people use Social Media in this way, they follow their friends, celebrities, bands, singers, participate in trending topic, post to their wall, play games like (farmville) and other stuff without gaining anything.

Second approach is best in using Social Media, the combination of social and business. In my place (Cebu City) I've seen a lot of my friends profit in their local business using Social Media, and so with other top businesses around the world. Also, found out that businesses that don't use Social Media turns down.
Just to remind you that Social Media keeps changing as what said "...Welcome to reality. Social media, by the very nature of how it operates, is semantic. It will change and mold to the things that give it meaning. Facebook started as a college website and has now become one of the world’s largest gaming platforms. It did so because that’s what people wanted. They gave Facebook a new definition and the site changed accordingly."

Why not give Social Media a try.

INCEPTION: Dreaming inside a dream and so on

Watched INCEPTION last night at SM City Cebu - IMAX Theater (pictured below). It was the last day of the 3 day sale of SM Cebu, got a chance to watch it before it leaves the cinemas. Together with Jon Ouano, Grace Inocando, and @chris_iceman, first time in IMAX Theater.

Tickets are sold for only P200 pesos, it's worth the wait. I think tickets are on sale too. Whoa, crystal clear sound and picture, awesome ingenuity. I'm not really sure about the name of the picture on the left, but it reminds me that you need to have that thing or something for you to know that you're not dreaming.

"DiCaprio plays Dom Cobb, an expert at entering victims’ dreams and extracting industrial secrets.

He cannot return to the United States for reasons that are initially unclear, but prove to be emotionally resonant.

SEO: Social Bookmarking

Another side of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is called the Social Bookmarking. Wikipedia describes social bookmarking as the "method for Internet users to organize, store, manage and search for bookmarks of resources online"

Organizing your post in the internet gives a quality SEO of your blog or website. Search Engine Journal gives a clear benefit of using social bookmarking, as seen  below:

  •  faster indexing of sites
  •  deeper indexing of sites
  •  increased quality
  •  external meta data, and
  •  number of votes

Because of the emergence of Facebook and Twitter, people enjoyed it's service. Common bookmarking sites are rarely considered like Delicious, Digg, Reddit, Stumbleupon, Diigo, Connotea and others.
Practical Ecommerce said "In today's web economy, content needs to be both "findable" via search engines and "shareable" via social media."

Social Bookmarking sites arrange, systematize and gives label to a web using tags. Annotation helps classify the main content of the web and that is the work of tags. Vocabularies from the people are used to bookmark the web. Tags has value, considered keywords, and could be easily indexed by search engine.

Biggest Fire in CEBU this year

Yesterday, in Cebu City the biggest fire this year hit the city. More than 250 families or more lost their homes. No one was killed in the disaster but there are reports of cuts and bruises during the evacuation and when people are trying to save their belongings.

Firefighters from Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Talisay City, Liloan, Minglanilla and Consolacion, the Filipino-Chinese Fire Brigade, ERUF, AFP Central Command and some volunteers help stop the raging fire yesterday.

Supt. Esmael Codilla, Cebu City Fire marshal, said reports that they are still checking where the fire started. He, however, said that they are looking into allegations that the fire started the three-storey house of Rosemarie Rizol, a city hall employee.

According to Merla Lavides, one of the volunteers in the area, one of Rizol's boarders occupying the third floor allegedly cooked something using rubber to fuel the fire, which triggered the blaze.
Rizol, who was at work when the fire broke out, denied the report saying she is no longer renting out rooms.

Check out the photos below during the fire outbreak yesterday August 9, 2010 around 12:00PM - 4:00PM. Heavy smoke cover the sky of Barangay T. Padilla, F. Villa Pvt. Road.

The Aftermath, August 10, 2010 12:00PM - 4:00PM. Homeless families stayed in the Kiwanis Gym, some in the street of M.J. Cuenco Ave. others in their burned houses. Electricity and Telephone lines are down. The Government promised to give immediate help to those families who lost their homes and I'm thankful for that because I lost my boarding house, too.

Note: Sorry for the crappy photos. It was only taken from a cellphone.
